As an integral part of our mission as a Catholic School, Christian service is required of all students. A minimum of 20 hours for every year the student attends Memphis Catholic is required. Students may complete the service in the summer prior to the school year or on evenings, weekends, and school breaks. The student provides the organization overseeing the service a verification sheet, which is to be signed and returned to the school.
Core curriculum at Memphis Catholic High School includes one religion credit per year; these courses provoke a deeper search into understanding a relationship with God through prayer, study, and lived commitment. Searching the Sacred Scriptures and studying the tradition of the Catholic Church heightens the student’s sense of identity as a child of God. Having embraced this identity, each student is then encouraged to embrace the mission of the Christian disciple through our strong emphasis on moral development, sacramental participation, and community service.
The primary purpose of the House System is to further the mission of the school by providing greater pastoral care to all our students while strengthening their sense of community. The system will also enable the students to develop their leadership skills.
