In addition to a strong academic curriculum, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, each of which promotes self-confidence and leadership development within the school’s community.
Students may choose to participate in the following extra-curricular activities:
We offer a full range of competitive girls’ and boys’ junior varsity and varsity sports. The Catholic Chargers play home games on our football, baseball and softball fields and in our gymnasium, all located on campus.
The National Honor Society is comprised of Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors who qualify based on academic performance. The guidance counselor notifies students who qualify academically and invites them to apply for membership in the society. Each application is reviewed by the selection committee and those most deserving are inducted into the National Honor Society in the spring semester each year.
These students are called upon to act as Ambassadors for Memphis Catholic High School. They give student and parent tours of the campus and make presentations to visiting school groups on a variety of topics centering around high school life and the successful transition into high school and beyond.
The Office of Campus Ministry assists in fulfilling the mission of Memphis Catholic High School by coordinating students’ spiritual growth outside of the classroom setting.
A school-based quiz competition, Knowledge Bowl exposes students to a much wider knowledge base, greatly benefiting our students academically.
The Spanish Club offers great opportunity for student leadership. It offers a way for students to become involved in campus life by making friends, supporting the Hispanic community, and learning and promoting Hispanic values and traditions.
The Whoopensockers is a team compiled of 9-12th grade students. The team is responsible for designing, building and programming a robot to compete against other schools in the area in an alliance-type competition to complete the given task. Students work with technical mentors to get a hands-on experience with the engineering design process from start to finish.
The Memphis Catholic Middle and High School choir sings at all the school Masses, at the annual Jubilee Schools Christmas Concert, and on other special occasions both at school and in our Memphis community.
With various clubs and organizations, as well as opportunities for participation in several visual arts pursuits, there are plenty of opportunities for student involvement. Extracurricular interests are encouraged and supported in our school’s community.
